Serving the Sun City Community Since 2007

Our History

Cynthia Edhuine, founder of Advanced Independence and Advanced Independence Charity, has always envisioned creating a space where individuals with disabilities are empowered to work, learn, socialize, and surpass even their own expectations. Since launching Advanced Independence in 2007, Cynthia’s unwavering commitment has driven the organization’s growth and impact in our community.

That vision became a reality on October 22, 2021, with the grand opening of the Advanced Independence Charity Thrift Store now known as
Glorious Treasures.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony marked not just the launch of a store, but the beginning of a thriving hub for opportunity, inclusion, and community engagement. Since opening, Glorious Treasures has outperformed expectations, providing meaningful employment and skill-building opportunities for adults with special abilities.

Fueled by this success and a steadfast belief in our mission, Advanced Independence Charity is expanding Glorious Treasures to a larger location as of March 8, 2022, allowing us to serve even more individuals and broaden our impact. Our store is open Monday through Friday, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, welcoming shoppers, donors, and supporters who want to make a difference.

We invite you to join us in transforming lives whether by shopping, or donating to Glorious Treasures Thrift Store , or sharing our mission.

There are many ways to support our work, including participating in Fry’s Community Rewards, Amazon Smile, Arizona Gives Day, making regular donations, or opening a free checking account at Western Bank (mentioning Advanced Independence Charity earns us a $100 donation).

By partnering with us, you’re investing in a future where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, contribute, and belong.

Together, we can create lasting change and unlock the full potential of our community.
