Our History
We officially opened the doors to Glorious Treasures Thrift Store on March 8, 2022, with a vision to create more than just a place to shop. Our goal and mission was to create a space where purpose, opportunity, and community could come together and make a lasting impact.
Before Glorious Treasures Thrift Store became the thriving storefront it is today. It began as a small thrift section inside the offices of Advanced Independence Charity. As individuals in our AIC Works™ employment training program began learning retail and workplace skills, we quickly realized the need for a larger environment where they could gain real-world experience, build confidence, and develop greater independence within the community.
What started as a simple idea soon grew into something much greater.
Today, Glorious Treasures Thrift Store serves as both a community thrift store and a hands-on training environment. This is a warm inviting environment where adults with unique abilities have the opportunity to: Strengthen job skills, Interact with customers, Organize merchandise, Assist with daily store operations, and Experience the value of meaningful work.
From the very beginning, our community embraced the mission behind Glorious Treasures Thrift Store. Customers appreciated not only the affordable Treasures throughout the store, but also the opportunity to support a program that empowers individuals through encouragement, training, and real-life opportunities.
Every donation, purchase, and visit directly supports our mission of helping Individuals discover their unique abilities, build confidence, and move toward greater Independence.
