We’re seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Career Guidance Specialist to join our team at Advanced Independence Charity in Sun City. You’ll be expected to utilize innovative techniques and current best practices in career development for adults with neurodiversities.

In this role, you’ll be expected to think on your feet, developing tailored strategies to address the unique challenges faced by our clients. Your creative approach and quick thinking will be essential in helping neurodiverse adults navigate the complexities of the job market and find meaningful employment.

You will have the autonomy to:

  • Conduct one-on-one career counseling sessions with neurodiverse adults to assess their skills, interests, and abilities.
  • Develop personalized career action plans tailored to individual client needs.
  • Facilitate job skills workshops and training sessions to enhance employability.
  • Provide guidance on resume writing, interview techniques, and effective job search strategies.
  • Collaborate with local employers to create job opportunities for clients.
  • Assist clients with on-the-job training and workplace integration.
  • Monitor client progress and provide ongoing support and encouragement.
  • Stay updated on labor market trends and employment opportunities for neurodiverse individuals.
  • Maintain detailed records of client interactions, progress, and outcomes.
  • Advocate for clients within the community to promote understanding and acceptance of neurodiversity in the workplace.

Your experience should include...

• Experience working with neurodiverse adults in career development or vocational rehabilitation
• Ability to work quickly and creatively in a fast-paced environment
• Innovative problem-solver who takes pride in producing logical, simple, and effective solutions
• Aptitude for addressing new and complex issues in career guidance for neurodiverse individuals
• Excellent communication skills and ability to adapt to diverse client needs
• Proficiency in using cutting-edge career assessment tools and job search

You might also have...​

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in career counseling, psychology, social work, or related field
• Understanding of local job market trends and employment opportunities for neurodiverse individuals
• Passion for empowering individuals with disabilities in the workplace
• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills
